EuroCucina is one of the world’s largest exhibitions of furniture for kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces. Held in Milan, it covers 24,000 square metres, and the 2014 event featured 121 Italian and 17 international exhibitors. Around 310,000 people attended the event in April – including members of the thinkdzine team!
We enjoyed taking a close look at all the latest trends in kitchens, bathrooms and interiors. The Cesar kitchens were particularly popular, with a lot of interest in the different finishes on offer, as well as the various types of concealed and exposed storage that are part of the Cesar range.
While gloss style kitchens were prominent at previous EuroCucina events, at the 2014 event, matte finishes were much more evident. There was a strong use of timber, and particular heat-treated and rough-cut timber.
Pendant lighting over islands, handle-free push-open cabinetry and smooth-glide drawers were also in abundance.
Many kitchen features are concealed, and these include table tops that pull out from island benches, and pop-up taps and range hoods.
With lots of timber finishes and hidden storage and appliances, the look is natural and clean-lined.
Other elements of interest were in-drawer lighting, storage behind splash-backs and the integration of sound systems in kitchens.
With the opening of thinkdzine’s design studio in Sydney’s Alexandria, we look forward to showing you many exciting ideas for your kitchen, bathroom or living room in person. You’ll be able to see firsthand, the latest in furniture and finishes to create a fresh new look for your home.
